| On each page you will find what that state has to offer for microbreweries and brewpubs. The states with Midwest microbreweries included are: Illinois: The Illinois beer page lists the Illinois microbreweries and Illinois brewpubs as well as provides links to their websites. Individual Illinois microbreweries and Illinois brewpubs are found underneath their city's heading. Chicago microbreweries and brewpubs, for example, are listed under the Chicago heading. There, you will find brewers: Half Acre, Beverly, and the listings for Goose Island Beer Company, all of which are very important Midwest microbrewers serving Illinois beer. Future Chicago microbreweries like Metropolitan and Revolution Brewing are also listed. It's not just Chicago that has great microbrewers and brewpubs. Some of the best Illinois microbreweries and Illinois brewpubs include Emmett's Tavern & Brewing Company in Downer's Grove and Palatine, Prairie Rock in Elgin, Taylor Brewing in Lombard, Govnor's Public House in Lake in the Hills, Carlyle in Rockford, Two Brothers Brewing of Warrenville, all of which are great Illinois microbrewers or Illinois brewpubs and serve some exciting Midwest beer are also listed. Illinois is making excellent beer, and there are many Illinois microbrewers and Illinois brewpubs serving new Illinois beer that deserve to be checked out. Indiana: The Indiana page provides a listing of Indiana microbreweries and Indiana brewpubs. You will find Indiana microbreweries and Indiana brewpubs listings from Indianapolis microbreweries and brewpubs to the Mad Anthony locations across the state. Multiple locations for Indiana microbreweries are found under the city's listing like the Mad Anthony Tap House in Auburn, to their central location in Fort Wayne and the new The Mad Anthony Lake City Tap House in Warsaw. Other Indiana microbreweries around the state listed include Indiana microbrewers and brewpubs such as: Bloomington and Upland Brewing of Bloomington, Columbus' Powerhouse Brewing, Evansville's Main Street Brewing, Fort Wayne's Warbird Brewing, Oaken Barrel in Greenwood, Alcatraz Brewing, Broad Ripple Brewpub and Brugge Brasserie of Indianapolis, Half Moon Restaurant and Brewery in Kokomo, Lafayette Brewing in Lafayette, Shoreline Brewery in Michigan City, Mishawaka Brewing in Mishawaka, New Albanian Brewing in New Albany, Barley Island Brewing in Noblesville, and Terre Haute's Terry Haute Brewing. In terms of Midwest microbreweries, Indiana has much to offer. If you are looking for a some Midwest beer, check out the Hoosier state's Indiana microbrewers. Iowa: To most, Iowa beer is unknown. To Iowans it is considered a well-kept secret. New Iowa microbreweries like The Hub City Brewing Company in Stanley are looking to change that. There are many exciting Iowa microbreweries and Iowa brewpubs. On the larger scale, there are three Granite City Food and Brewery locations across the state, in cities of Cedar Rapids, Clive and Davenport. There are also smaller Iowa microbreweries like The Raccoon River Brewing Company in Des Moines, Cedar Brewing Company in Cedar Rapids, and the above mentioned Hub City. There are also great brewpubs like Worth Brewing Company in Northwood, Iowa City's great Old Capitol Brew Works and Public House, and the Bricktown Brewery in Dubuque. If you are looking for a new place to explore, you will love these Iowa microbreweries and Iowa brewpubs. Michigan: Beer is very important to Michiganders. There are more Michigan microbreweries and brewpubs than in any other state in the Midwest. Michigan microbreweries like Jolly Pumpkin Artisan Ales in Dexter, Detroit Beer Company Motor City Brewing Works and Atwater Block Brewing in Detroit, and the now-famous Founders Brewing Company of Grand Rapids, Arcadia Brewing Company of Battle Creek, Marshall's Dark Horse Brewing, and Bell's Brewing of Galesburg and Kalamazoo are making great strides in bringing great Michigan beer to Midwest beer fans. There are also other brewpub gems across the state. Some of our favorite providers of Michigan beer are Arbor Brewing Company of Ann Arbor, Harper's Restaurant and Brewpub in East Lansing, Big Buck in Gaylord, Mountain Town Station in Mount Pleasant, Bastone and Royal Oak Brewery in Royal Oak and Mackinaw Brewing Company in Traverse City. There are also great Michigan microbreweries and Michigan brewpubs in the Upper Peninsula like Ishpeming's Jasper Ridge, Houghton's Keweenaw Brewing Company, and The Vierling Restaurant & Marquette Harbor Brewery in Marquette. Even if they aren't known, these U.P. beer makers are adding much to the prestige of Michigan beer, Michigan microbreweries and Midwest microbrew community overall. Minnesota: If you are looking for Minnesota microbreweries, the Minneapolis and St. Paul area is home to many of the best known of the many Minnesota microbrewers. Flat Earth, Summit, and Pig's Eye are all found region-wide. Get outside of the Twin Cities and you will find great new Minnesota microbreweries like Surly in Brooklyn Center, Lake Superior Brewing in Duluth, and Mantorville's very own Mantorville Brewing Co. There are great Minnesota microbreweries and Minnesota brewpubs across the state as well. Fitger's Brewhouse in Duluth, The Herkimer Pub and Minneapolis Town Hall in Minneapolis, McCann's Food and Brew and O'Hara's Brewpub in St. Cloud, and Great Waters Brewpub of St. Paul are just a few of the best Minnesota microbreweries you can find. There is awesome Midwest beer all around. Like many states here are also a number of Granite City Food and Brew locations across the state added to the other Minnesota microbrewers. Ohio: There are some larger microbreweries like Great Lakes and Dark Horse in Cleveland, but smaller brewpubs are the primary sources for Ohio microbrewed beer. Although not as great in number as other states, there are some great ones here that deserve to be checked out. If you are in the Cincinnati are, check out Ohio microbreweries like Barrel House, Watson Brother's, Teller's of Hyde Park and the Mount Carmel Brewing Company. Visiting the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in Cleveland? Some great Ohio microbreweries to stop at are Rocky River, The Cleveland ChopHouse and Brewery and Western Reserve Brewing. On your way to Cleveland, there are excellent Ohio microbreweries along the way. Some of our favorite Ohio microbreweries and Ohio brewpubs are Columbus and Barley's in Columbus, Liberty Street and Thirsty Dog in Akron, Buckeye in Lakewood, Marietta's Marietta Brewing, Portsmouth Brewing in Portsmouth, Mullholand in Reynoldsburg, and Maumee Bay in Toledo. We are also looking forward to checking out a new Ohio beer when the new Weasel Boy Brewing in Zanesville opens. Wisconsin: Fan of Wisconsin beer? Looking for Wisconsin microbreweries? On the Wisconsin page, you will find a listing of all Wisconsin microbreweries, some slightly-larger Wisconsin breweries like New Glarus, as well as many Wisconsin brewpubs. Wisconsin beer like Miller and Miller Lite is known around the world, but Wisconsin is also a state full of great microbreweries and brewpubs. Considered by many the birthplace of beer, there are many amazing Wisconsin microbrewers in Milwaukee like Lakefront, Water Street, Stonefly Brewing and the brewpubs Doyle's Milwaukee Inn and the Milwaukee Ale House. The state capitol of Madison is home to some of the most creative Wisconsin microbrewers that are adding a lot to the Wisconsin beer community: Ale Asylum, The Great Dane, Angelic, and JT Whitney's. Travel south a bit and you will find a hidden gem of a Wisconsin microbrewer: The Grumpy Troll of Mount Horeb. Green Bay, home of the Green Bay Packers is home to not only the staff of MidwestMicrobrews, but two great brewpubs, Titletown Brewing and Hinterland Brewing. If you are in town for a Green Bay Packers game, be sure to check out one of these beloved Wisconsin microbreweries.
